Greystone announced that C. Lamar Seats has joined as Senior Vice President, FHA Production.
He will oversee origination teams at Greystone handling multifamily, affordable housing and construction finance via HUD-insured programs.
Seats joins Greystone from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Multifamily Housing Programs for three years, overseeing $21 billion in production in FY2020.
He was previously a Managing Director at M&T Realty Capital Corporation and served as Chief Executive officer of Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital LLC upon acquisition by Enterprise Community Investment Inc, where he was Senior Vice President and head of the mortgage banking group.
Earlier in his career, Seats worked in commercial loan roles at Reilly Mortgage Group, Wells Fargo Bank, Bankers Trust Company, and USF&G Corporation.
SJP Properties announced that Patrick Jennings has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions.
He will work directly with SJP Properties CEO and Founder Steve Pozycki to pursue new acquisition, development and investment opportunities.
Jennings previously worked with Arden Group where he spearheaded the growth of the office investment platform and directed the day-to-day fundraising, strategy, deal sourcing, and asset management responsibilities for the multifamily and student housing assets acquired in the firm’s opportunity zone fund.
Before that, he worked for 14 years at Murray Hill Properties where he managed investments across the value-add lifecycle.
Jennings received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College, having also studied economics at the City University of Hong Kong.
Lightstone announced the hiring of John Zubak as Vice President of West Coast Originations for Lightstone Capital, the firm’s real estate debt platform.
The move creates Lightstone Capital’s first office outside of New York City and signals an increased focus on expanding its presence across the country.
Zubak, with a dozen years of experience in the finance industry, joined the firm from Calmwater Capital, where he sourced, underwrote, and executed over $275 million in loan originations.
Before that, Zubak worked on the Investments team at CIM Group in Los Angeles. He also worked in investment banking at Wells Fargo on the Consumer, Healthcare and Gaming team where he helped create the first gaming focused REIT (GLPI), as well as in M&A at Citadel Securities and Oppenheimer.
Zubak is a graduate of George Washington University, where he received a B.A. in Finance and International Business.
JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group announced that 20-year industry veteran Mark Fisher has joined its Hotel Investment Banking team as a Managing Director in the company’s New York office. Fisher is joining the Hotels’ team from JLL’s New York Capital Markets Group.
Fisher will be working closely with Head of Hotels Debt Capital Markets, Kevin Davis, to structure debt and equity solutions from a variety of lenders, including insurance companies, commercial banks, investment banks, debt funds, family offices and private lenders.
Fisher joined JLL’s Capital Markets team in 2016, with prior experience including working within the principal real estate business for a New York-based hotel operator and owner; and experience with significant banking leaders, such as Eurohypo AG, Lehman Brothers, BMO Harris and NBD Bank. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame where he earned his B.A. in Economics and achieved his MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.
Newmark announced that Garrett Cannon has joined the firm as Executive Managing Director and Co-Head of Information and Technology for Global Corporate Services (GCS).
Garrett will work alongside Executive Managing Director for Technology, Carla Hinson to expand an existing platform that supports clients.
Garrett previously as Head of Real Estate and Asset Management for Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund. Earlier in his career, he founded and served as president of Sequentra Solutions LLC, a proptech firm that was purchased by Johnson Controls, where Garrett went on to spend 10 years as vice president/general manager for its Global Workplace Solutions business.
Garrett led the merger and integration of this business with CBRE in 2015.
BEB Capital has appointed Andrew B. Levine to serve in the newly created role of Chief Legal Officer.
Levine brings more than 30 years of experience, both as a senior banking executive and as a real estate attorney,.
He previously served as a senior counsel in the Real Estate Department at Fried Frank. Prior to that, he was a managing director and the Head of Portfolio Lending & Underwriting at the French bank, Natixis. During his 15-year career at Natixis, Levine was responsible for the multi-billion-dollar portfolio lending program.
Levine received his J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he was on the editorial staff of the Journal of International Law and Politics. He received his B.A. in Economics, with distinction, from Binghamton University, where he was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa.
Keller Williams New York City (KWNYC) has hired commercial real estate veteran David Workman to head the NYC division of KW Commercial.
Along with fellow agent, Julia Maksimova, his mandate is to grow the commercial leasing and investment sales business as well as capitalize on and leverage the significant relationships of the approximately 200,000 residential national and local agents and over 2,000 KW Commercial agents nationwide.
Workman has 30-plus of real estate experience, most recently working at Winick Realty Group as a Senior Vice President. Before that, he was a Savitt Partners executive. He has also worked at Newmark Knight Frank.
Workman holds a BA in Economics from Brandeis University.
Greystone announced that David E. Friedman has joined as a Senior Managing Director and Head of Institutional Lending to lead a strategic build-out and take-to-market execution of the firm’s new institutional lending platform.
Friedman will focus on further advancing and developing new institutional capital relationships across the firm’s Agency and FHA lending platforms.
He joins the firm from TD Bank, N.A., where he served as a regional director and senior vice president within its Commercial Real Estate Banking group. Prior to that, he was a director within Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Real Estate Syndicated Capital Markets group and he also served in loan origination support and underwriting roles within PNC Bank, N.A.’s Real Estate Finance group.
Greystone announced that David Goodwin has joined as a Managing Director in the firm’s Portfolio Lending Group.
Goodwin will focus on underwriting large-balance bridge loans, a 2021 focus for Greystone’s Portfolio Lending platform.
He joins the firm from Wells Fargo, and prior to that, served as a managing director at Société Générale as a founding member of its CMBS program. Goodwin previously spent 17 years at Greenwich Capital / Royal Bank of Scotland and served as chief credit officer for CMBS.
Earlier in his career, he was a managing director for Greystone in structured credit and played an integral role in early Agency license and origination activities.
Goodwin is based in the firm’s New York office and reports to Steve Germano, senior managing director.

Robb Davidson has been promoted to Director, Project Management. Davidson has served as a Senior Manager in the Project Management group since 2016. He began his career at Avison Young managing all projects at 211 East 43rd Street and continues to work with the AY agency brokers who represent this building as new spaces are leased and built for tenants, as well as working on internal initiatives to help grow the New York project management business.
Most recently, Davidson has been overseeing project management work for LinkedIn, which awarded Avison Young two additional floors of work in addition to a full restack at Empire State Building totaling over 500,000 RSF, as well as an additional project for the company in the Washington D.C. market.
Emely Grisanty has been named to a newly created position, Senior Project Manager – Technology Solutions, PjM Americas. SIOR has named Robert Thornburgh as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Thornburgh, a long-standing commercial real estate specialist and trailblazer based out of Los Angeles, California, brings more than 25 years of industry knowledge and leadership experience.
He joins the organization from Kidder Mathews, where he was a shareholder and regional president of brokerage for many years.
During much of his professional career, Thornburgh served as the CEO at Heger Industrial. Before that, he worked with R3 Investment Group, an investment company he still owns. In 2017, Heger merged with Kidder Mathews. As part of the merger, Thornburgh joined the company’s executive leadership team.
He has served as SIOR Global President and sat on the SIOR Board of Directors and holds four of the most respected designations within the commercial real estate industry – SIOR, CCIM, CPM, and FRICS. This is a distinction that less than one percent of all global commercial real estate practitioners maintain.
Thornburgh takes over as CEO as the organization celebrates its 80th anniversary.
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) announced that Sonia Huntley has been appointed as the Institute’s senior vice president for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Huntley, who was formerly ULI’s vice president for Global Customer Service, will be responsible for heightening ULI’s overall focus on DEI, including significantly increasing the representation of under-represented groups within ULI’s membership, staff and leadership. Huntley will also expand ULI’s content and learning opportunities to help tackle structural systemic racism within the real estate industry.
Huntley was a co-leader of ULI’s DEI initiative and served on the ULI Member/Staff DEI Council.
Before working at ULI, Huntley worked for the Division of University Relations at the University of Maryland, where she was Director of Membership and Marketing for the Alumni Association. A
Huntley received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Newmark announced Phil Brodkin’s appointment as Executive Vice President, Head of Industrial and Logistics Services.
He will be responsible for the firm’s industrial business’ strategic direction, further broadening the platform capabilities and infrastructure, recruiting talent and enhancing client service.
Brodkin has nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining Newmark in 2017, he served as a director of real estate at Regus, the world’s largest flexible workplace provider. before that, he spent nine years at CBRE as an advisor for commercial office space owners and occupiers.
Brodkin will continue his role as Market Leader for the Los Angeles region.

Avison Young New Jersey announced that Paul Mastroeni has been promoted to Director of Project Management. He has served as a Senior Manager in the Project Management group since 2012.
Mastroeni has overseen project management-related activities for the Avison Young New Jersey office for nine years.
He has directed numerous projects for ADP, IMG and Walmart. Currently, he is working on one of the larger interior fit-out projects in the state of New Jersey.

Avison Young New Jersey, announced that Senior Portfolio Manager Dennis Sherry is transferring from Avison Young’s New York office to New Jersey.
He will lead the charge for property management new business development initiatives for the New Jersey office as well as continue to support projects across the entire Tri-State market.
Sherry joined Avison Young in 2020 and served as a key contributor to the continued growth of the New York market’s asset management service line.
He as over 20 years of experience in all areas of property and facilities management, having overseen over 30 million square feet of space representing over 100 properties throughout his career.
His recent work at Avison Young includes overseeing the asset management for a partnership of Salmar Properties and Madison Capital, a total renovated property in Union Square for Reading International and two new managed properties in Westchester for Core Four Properties.
Sherry graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has completed master’s-level courses at New York University’s Real Estate Program. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, currently Inactive, in New Jersey.
