Newmark Retail has arranged a new lease for Just Salad at 1350 Avenue of the Americas in the Plaza District.
The fast-casual restaurant chain will open on the ground floor and lower level leased space, which combine to offer 6,652 s/f of space at the base of the 601,330 S/f office tower owned by SL Green.
Newmark’s Ariel Schuster, Ross Berkowitz, Jason Wecker and Mitch Heifetz represented the landlord. Cushman & Wakefield’s Neil Seth, Kenji Ota and Kevin To represented the tenant.
“The Midtown retail market is starting to see an uptick in lease transactions,” stated Schuster. “As the vaccine rollout continues, a resurgence in New York’s retail leasing momentum will likely follow to support a growing confidence in the reopening of the market.”
Just Salad was founded in 2006 in New York City and has nearly 50 locations in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Dubai. T

Located on the southeast corner of 55th Street, 1350 Avenue of the Americas has a recently renovated lobby. The property is home to financial, accounting, law, and technology firms.
Completed in 1965, 1350 Ave of the Americas was designed by Emery Roth & Sons and typifies the postwar wave of development that changed the Avenue of Americas core directly west of Rockefeller Center. Featuring a black glass façade divided by vertical white marble piers, the building’s setbacks step away from the street to provide a greater sense of transparency and light.
