Newmark announced a 4,600 s/f lease for the first location of Miami’s popular The Spot Barbershop.
The barbershop will set up its first New York City location at 332 Bowery in Soho. Newmark Directors JD Cohen and Michael Paster represented the tenant, while Senior Managing Director Brandon Eisenman and Director Andrew Connolly represented the landlord in the transaction.
The Spot Barbershop’s new location marks its first expansion outside of Florida and its first in New York City.
The shop encompasses 2,300 s/f of space on the ground floor and 2,300 s/f in the basement. The new location features ceiling heights of 10.6 ft. on the ground floor and 8.6 ft. in the basement with 15 feet of frontage along the Bowery. Notable neighbors include OVO, Reformation, Kith, Goop, Philip Lim and Patagonia.
“We started looking for space with The Spot Barbershop back in November during the height of COVID-19, as they were very bullish on expanding to the NYC market,” said Cohen.
“This service-oriented tenant deciding to open up their first New York location along the Bowery further reinforces the sentiment that we’re seeing a positive shift in retail leasing as we come out of the pandemic.”
The Spot Barbershop was established in 2001, offering classic and contemporary haircuts and grooming for men in Miami. They offer clients classic services like hot towel shave treatments, haircuts and straight razor shaves by skilled barbers.
The Spot Barbershop’s popularity in Southern Florida had them rapidly expanding to 18 locations due to their above-board service, ambiance and curated classic barbershop experience.
